Exclusive Interview With Kirby Krackle!

Who doesn’t like good music? Okay, fine, now, who doesn’t like nerdy things? Whoever raised their hands better stop reading this right away (and almost everything else on this site!), because we’ve got a first for nerdpundit.com coming at you: an interview! This is no ordinary interview, either… it’s an interview with none other than Kirby Krackle; “The World’s First Comic Book Rock Band!” What better way to kick off our interview career than with a band who sings songs about foul gestures in first person shooters, or other songs that compare the turbulence of life to Mario Kart races? We were lucky enough to arrange a meeting with the minds behind the music at Jim Hanley’s Universe, the very day after the Seattle-based Kirby Krackle performed in that same basement! Refer to the video below, as I try to keep my composure while chatting with my favorite indie rock band.

These guys are absolutely great, I had a blast being ridiculous dorks with them for the better part of the afternoon. Kirby Krackle has started to perform their shows with a full band, but they were not able to make the trek all the way to the Big Apple for these gigs. After the interview was over, Kyle, Jim and myself had time to browse Jim Hanley’s extensive comic collection. The boys definitely practice what they preach. WARNING: Some spoilers to a few comics exist in the video below. Also, extreme comic knowledge is expressed. You have been warned.

You should definitely keep your eyes and ears on Kirby Krackle:

They showed New York a great time; so if you’re in the San Diego area, you should go find their booth from July 23rd to July 26th at the San Diego Comic Con! They’ll be playing at 10AM on July 26th. Be there!

Special thanks to Jim Hanley’s Universe for letting us loiter! Pay them a visit if you’re in midtown Manhattan.
