Nerdgasm: 30 Rock and BSG!

salma30rockNBC Universal: FTW!

As a huge fan of the ‘new’ – but now ended SciFi tv series Battlestar Galactica (BSG), anything that references my favorite show is cause for celebration. I am also a fan of comedy tv, and so of course I watch NBC’s 30 Rock on a regular basis. This season of 30 Rock featured Selma Hayek as a guest character – the love interest of ‘Jack Donahgy’ (played by Alec Baldwin).  Now, I’m not homosexual, but you’d have to be blind to watch the show and miss the fact that almost every outfit Hayek’s character has worn was some low-cut sexy top with massive canyon-cleavage.  Without giving away the plot to all you readers who haven’t seen the show or this episode yet, I’ll just say that I’m pretty sure last night was the last time we’d see her character on the show.  In her final scene on the show last night, she enters wearing a coat, and in the middle of the scene, while speaking, she takes her coat off to reveal a BSG T-shirt that says “What the FRAK?” across her boobs! Total Nerdgasm – I missed half of her monologue because I was envying her top!

NBC Universal: FAIL.

You’d think this was INGENIOUS marketing on the part of NBC Universal to sell BSG shirts post-mortem of the SciFi hit, but there I was, a mere 12-hours after my viewing of 30 Rock, still thinkin’ about that shirt, searching the internet frantically to find it for sale online – and it’s nowhere to be found. Several Twitter posts have mentioned it, and several other blogs that review 30 Rock and television have mentioned it – and YES, there are BSG t-shirts for sale online, but NOT this particular shirt. So WHAT THE FRAK, NBC? You’re missing out on a great opportunity to make a sale here!

At this moment I am waiting for the show to become available on hulu so I can grab a screenshot of said shirt. A follow-up will be posted.
