Batman: Arkham Asylum

In the wake of the Dark Knight, gaming Batman fans have been waiting for a game to come their way. However, most movie-based games do the antithesis of living up to the film itself. Thankfully, the Dark Knight game is having trouble lifting off, leaving room in the spotlight for a game which looks like it could satisfy every Batman enthusiast out there, film and comic fans alike. Why don’t you induldge yourself, and check the sweet new trailer after the break?

Windows 7 A Success

Windows 7After the epic failure of Windows Vista, pretty much anything would have been an improvement.  With talk of Windows 7, I have been skeptical of the positive chatter surrounding its release.  I have, however, had the opportunity to test Windows 7, and have only positive things to say about it Keep reading > >

There is a GOD! Arrested Development is ON!

arrested-development-segway1Well folks.. we’ve had a crazy few months with the whole economic depression change in government, and now something special is coming to town – THE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT MOVIE! This might be partially premature, like a teenager on prom night (giggity). But rumors spurting out of the wood work is that the final holdout (Cera) has joined the ranks and filming will begin as soon as possible! Jeffrey Tambor (George Sr.) was quoted,  “The movie is going to happen this year, and Michael Cera is on board. Trust me.”

The long awaited movie will be in production soon (fingers crossed) and GOB lovers all over the world will rejoice!

President Obama, An Unusual Pop-Culture Phenom

barack-obama-is-not-supermanIt is not unprecedented in American history for a President to be the individual around which we rally. From the times of our forefathers, Americans have always looked for one to rise above the rest to ensure the future and protect the inalienable rights and ideology for which this nation stands. In recent past, FDR, JFK, and even, Regan come to mind as great men in whom we placed a unified faith to move the United States forward. Among the vast commonalities prevailing among these men, the political truths are the most important – these men became part of the national obsession in times of great strife and need. The Depression, Civil Rights Activism, the Cold War, and several wars necessitated the coming together of our society, and these men led the way.

However, the advent of multimedia pop-culture and 24hr. news television make President Obama the exception to this rule. Unlike these other men, he is not a tried politician. Nor is he an exceptional executive – we just don’t know! Still, he has become the fixation of a nation in need. Obamania is in full force and, even Lennon – who so legendarily states he was bigger than Jesus – would say Obama is bigger than the Beatles. This has me thinking: why? And, is this a good thing?

The short answer: yes. But, we need to get through “why?” first. Keep reading > >

The John Mayer Empire Grows!

54225-mayer_john_01l

I truly believe that John Mayer is smart! Whether you like his music or not, you have to give the guy credit. First off, he plays a mean guitar and every album he makes offers something more to the listener. He’s creative and dates some of the hottest and …dare I say .. skankiest (..ahem…Jessica Simpson) women in Hollywood. Secondly, he knows how to market himself. He’s not overlly pretentious and does things outside the realm of music in order to not only please his audience but to reach out beyond it; some examples include:  The MayerCraft Carrier, his bromance with Kanye and Dave Chappelle, and his ability to make people laugh (“Two Guys, 1 Cup”, “Chocolate Rain Remix”)

Dear Hollywood, STOP!

hollywood

I am a fan of movies, but recently I’ve found a shortage of high-quality films coming out of Hollywood (i.e. The Spirit, Yes Man, any Saw movie, any movie made by the Wayans family, etc.). The creativity level in Hollywood has gone from interesting to redundant and back to completely wack! I for one am also a huge fan of marketing, because with the increase of pirated films, studios need  some kind of reassurance that they will get their investment back and more (hence anything made by George Lu(suck)cas) But something has to change….

O Captain, my Captain….

steve-jobs1

Well, the proverbially poo has slammed against the fan! Just yesterday Steve Jobs has declared that he will be taking a leave of absence due to health reasons. It seems that the previously described health problems were deemed more distressing than first thought. What does this mean for the Apple empire, what will become of the machine that has been the leader in the tech industry for years now?
