The 2008 US Presidential Election will be memorable for many reasons. The obvious is that we elected the first black President in the history of our country (one that is energetic, compelling and innovative). The other is a little different. The 2008 election introduced Sarah Palin to the world! Who knew, tucked away in the icy plateau of Alaska was this nimwit of a human, someone that helped bring the Republican party to its knees.
Well, the election has long passed and we are all moving on. Especially Palin! She’s signed on to write a book about her experience and I am sure she’ll find herself onto some Home Shopping Network or even make an appearance or two in national headlines for the years to come. Before I get ahead of myself, I just wanted to present one of the funniest pieces of media I’ve seen in some time. In an effort to out-do herself. Ms. Palin takes a Thanksgiving interview while a turkey gets slaughtered right behind her. It’s almost like a storm cloud of BAD follows this woman around.. enjoy the insanity! Keep an eye on the guy killing the turkey directly behind her… priceless…
Love him or hate him, it’s safe to say that Kanye West is one of the best artists of our time. His knack for rhythm, melody and beats are unmatchable in the realm of hip hop. He has an open mind to different sounds and is never afraid to experiment. That is what drew me to Kanye in the first place, another aspect that I always found endearing was his complete and utter disregard for what people think of him. Sure he’s made headlines saying stupid things and I do not agree with him on all his political-mumbo-jumbo. But, give him a mic and a beat, and I am sold! Kanye has also differentiated himself to other rappers like Jay-Z and Nas by writing music about other things rather than drugs, sex, and selling either one of them.. there is a subtle cockiness and an equal subtlety to his quips.
Last year, Kanye released “Graduation” and showed growth with the infusion of techno-pop. It seems Kanye has taken this baton and decided to sprint with it headstrong! A lot has occurred in Wests’ life to get him to his current CD “808s and Heartbreak” (a sticky breakup with his fiancee and the death of his mother). So ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce you to Kanye West.. the king of emo-hip-hop!!

1. Rapid updates (this major, they really pump them out).
2. Street View (does Google want to lose to the iPhone?).
3. Less Dropped Calls!!!!
4. False promises. Awesomeness.
OK, honestly, the dropped calls thing has been promised for all of the updates (including that big hardware one that cost people so much money, i.e., the iPhone 3G). Still, straight from my email, we iPhone users get this huge update. I’m currently installing and will review and update when I get to play.
Update: Alright, alright. I’ll give this one up to Apple. Perhaps they actually did the trick for once. This update maps rocks! Keep reading > >
“Chinese Democracy”, sounds like an oxymoron..kinda like the actual album! I will not for one second sit here and preach about Guns N Roses and their influence on the music industry during the mid-80s / early 90s. I won’t discredit them for their previous success. But after giving Chinese Democracy (their extremely highly anticipated and over-blown “homecoming” into the new-millenium) a thorough listen-through, I look back on all that they’ve accomplished and have begun to second guess some of those achievements. Like Jordan playing baseball and then going back to Basketball (again); Chinese Democracy seems like a great concept and not so-hot when manifested. I am sure to get a lot of flack from people after posting this, but I ask you to listen to the album and honestly ask yourself “was this worth a 17 year wait?”

Well I caved. I got an HDTV.
I know what you’re thinking…
“So.”
Well this was a big deal for me. As an avid non-tv-watcher and casual gamer I never really had a use for one. Well that is until now.
I enjoy watching movies again. They just look so damn good, and they aren’t even blu-ray. I used to hate watching movies because my tv sucked. Now I’m looking into HD in-demand, and blu-ray.
My wii looks awesome! I know it’s not an xbox, or PS3, but the quality boost is really something else. I’m even tempted to get an xbox after the holidays.
Hockey games are awesome! Immediately after i set up the tv, I saw the Rangers win. What a night!
In short, if you have an HD, you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, click through and let me whipser something in your ear.

It’s so simple, but it’s an amazing spin on the Presidential radio address. How easy this must be, too. I mean, I could do the same with my Mac, my iSight camera, and iMovie. But, we know already that President-Elect Obama is a Mac user…
It’s even more impressive on the site, since you can check it out in multiple online formats and download the source Quicktime file. (Oh, Google and Apple…)
In my humble opinion, Casino Royale was fantastic, almost perfect! It had a great mix of emotion, storyline, and action; things that the James Bond franchise was missing for many years under Brosnan. So one could imagine my enthusiasm to the follow-up movie in the revived Bond franchise: Quantum of Solace. Luckily, living in South East Asia has its perks, I saw the movie this past week and will now supply a review (minus the spoilers of course!).
Later this year marks the release of the highly anticipated Watchmen movie from director Zack Synder (“300″) and author Alan Moore. There’s so much hype surrounding the movie, so I decided to jump on board and ride the Watchmen train… to figure out if the story is really as compelling as people say. I approached the book with an open mind and a willingness to accept all the characters and style of writing that has made Alan Moore an icon of the graphic-novel genre! After reading the whole novel, I can honestly say to everyone: READ THIS BOOK! GO SEE THIS MOVIE! It definitely lives up to the hype. I won’t get into any spoilers, but here is my review:

No one really mentions this, but planes are amazing things. Check out the football on a TV on jetBlue. It’s absolutely amazing, in my opinion, that I can travel from Boston from Washington, DC, with minimal interruption in my NFL Sunday. Definitely somethin I think we take for granted.
