Part of the reason for changing nerdpundit.com to “more patriotic” colors was to change the focus of the site. I believe we’ve have some success in having healthy debates and trying to tackle some of the issues we deem important as younger voters in this incredibly important election. First, I’d like to take this chance to reiterate what the YouTube video above requests: please, please, PLEASE go vote! It is not only a civil duty, but a freedom that many, many people in this world do not have. Voting is one of the many luxuries Americans take for granted; I hope that no one does this year. This election is far too important. Please, GO VOTE!
Second, we get down to brass tax. Anyone that has read this site, or spoken to me, in the recent past knows that this has been a tough decision for me. I’m the first to argue against any candidate when a peer proposes him. More importantly, I know when to hold my tongue and heed the advice and wisdom of my elders. In the recent past, I’ve had intellectual conversations with individuals my senior, particularly about politics, and was forced to strongly consider the outcome of this election. To quote one such person, “Change for the sake of change isn’t necessary or wise.” I agree. Still, we don’t need change for the sake of it, we need change for the sake of our freedom, for the sake of our future, and to secure America’s place in the world so that my children and my children’s children can enjoy the same luxuries and liberties I’ve been so fortunate to enjoy. I’ve thought about this for 21 long months…I promise. Ultimately, I’ll be voting for Barack Obama for President of the United States of American on November 4th.

According to The Wall Street Journal, The Beatles will finally be added to the Rock Band family. I try not to swear too heavily when breaking news like this… but in reference to a conversation I had with a friend yesterday, this can be considered part of the “Hey, GH, FUCK YOU Pack.”
No songs have been listed as of this posting, but once the official announcement makes its splash at 10am Eastern.
With only a few days to go before one of the single most important Presidential elections of our time, I have begun to ponder the status of our great country. This Presidential race has been a “heck of a doozy” as Palin might say, and had it’s fair share of laughs, disagreements, and finger pointing. Heck, even the posts on our humble website have indicated how divided our country is on particular topics. I want to say that I may disagree with people’s ideologies, but I still respect their right and reason to choose what they want to believe in. But before I run off on a tangent, I want to pull the focus back to something that has been irking me for days…

I’ve said all along that I don’t like Obama as a person, I’m not a fan of his political motives, and I just flatly don’t trust the way Washington handles things right now. I’ve also gone on record saying how dumb I think the McCain/Palin ticket is and, well, how much disdain I have for Gov. Palin given her take on “Real America.” But, for once, let’s be fair. The whole world has given Sen. Obama the benefit of the doubt. Well, thank you, Campbell Brown, for blowing the lid off of this one.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you cannot trust anyone in Washington, not even the beloved Paul McCartney Barack Obama (come on, it’s funny if you think about it!)
It’s the year 2008, it’s been almost 8 years since the release of Apple’s revolutionary mp3 player – the iPod. Since it’s birth, the iPod has changed the way we buy, listen to and distribute music. Apple has been able to ride this model of success for quite some time now. It’s safe to say that because of this “monopoly” in the music industry, Apple has been able to release mildly updated iPod devices and iPhones and still experienced a huge profit. It looks as though times are a’changin!
So I stumbled upon a nifty bit of internet media that I thought I’d share with everyone. Remember those (at once fun… but soon became annoying) Budweiser Ads? “Wasssssupppp”. Well, those fine gentlemen got together recently to parody their once famed commercial. Part funny, part scary, and all satirical. Please see below and enjoy:
The 2008 Presidential Election is coming to a close and as I look back in retrospect I laugh to myself on some of the bafoonery that is the McCain-Palin combination. I honestly feel bad for Palin…mostly because she was a pawn this whole time. Used by McCain to attract the Hillary-vote and to legitimize himself as a stay at home guy who knows the troubles of the everyday American. Unfortunately this whole shtick blew up in his face, because as we soon realized Palin had a great personality….ONLY when she knew exactly what to say!!! How is it that this woman even became a Governor??? Palin has argued that the “liberal elite” media tried to “catch her” with trick questions… well how about this question: “What are the responsibilities of the Vice President?”
See below and try not to laugh too hard: (look it up yourself if you don’t believe)

Seriously, can someone exaplin this to me? This Congresswoman (read: crazy bitch) suggests that Obama is “anti-America” and that the media needs to search Congress for more of these people. Then, Palin suggests that Real Americans come from small towns in this country, not the Big City folk. Maybe those places just scare her, you know, the potential VP/President.
I try to never get vulgar on nerdpundit, but the New Yorker in me is out of control. So, forgive this. Also, I know that neither of these women will read this (they clearly don’t read and aren’t intelligent), but in the off-chance someone will relay the message: what the fuck are you two talking about? You backwards, religious lunatics can go fuck yourselves. I AM a real American, lived through 9/11, feared for my father’s life as he worked down there, pay my taxes, and try to always spur conversation and debate among my peers to consider the ppgtess of this nation. Unlike you, I don’t quell conversation and debate wtih inflammatory remarks.
I share my man’s, John Stewart, sentiments here and shall quote him to close: “Fuck all y’all”
May God bless America and get these people out of office.

New colors for these politically fun times. We’ll be implementing new functionality and a new base layout after the election!
Lucasarts and Bioware finally officially announced their new online RPG – Star Wars: The Old Republic. More on this when the time is right.
Fable 2 came out, and I’ve been giving it some good gameplay time. So far, I’m loving the game. The controls could be a little more responsive, but it is not at all unplayable. I’ll give you a full review when I get to more game content.
The publishers of LittleBigPlanet had to push the games release date back a week because some ingame music contains lines from the Qua’ran. The religious writing was in no way being mocked or denounced, simply represented. Yet, religious activists fought to have the lines removed from the game. Art is art, people. Why be afraid of this kind of representation? There’s not even any violence in the game. Lame! The new release date is October 28th, now being released with Fallout 3 and Guitar Hero: World Tour.
That’s all for now! Check back soon for more of everything!

Religulous.
That word sums it up. Religion + Ridiculous = Religulous.
Now, before get offended, I must preface my thoughts by stating that my entire educational experience has been through Catholic schools, the last nine of which have been in Jesuit – a kind of priest – institutions, which share a unique ideology and, in my belief, an outstanding teaching philosophy. Thus, I value religion in this world. I just don’t think it has any place in American politics.
What does the movie show? Well, we’re in the new Cold War, so to speak: Democracy vs. Religion. And, well, it just gets incredibly scary from there. Keep reading > >
