The Academy is… making an awesome CD!
I think I have mentioned before that I am a complete geek for pop-punk.. since the arrival of Blink-182, I’ve been a victim of poppy melodies with heavy attention to choruses. So yea… That being said, I would consider myself a pretty average “Academy Is..” fan. I mean, I thoroughly enjoyed 2005’s Almost Here, but was pretty disappointed with 2007’s Santi. It felt as if the band tried to be something they weren’t with their sophomore effort .. plus Beckett’s vocals were way toooo swoony on that album.
Well kids, The Academy Is.. have re-entered the studio this past year and I have been hearing nit bits of their new tracks and am blown away.. not only because of the poppy-ness and shear brilliance of the melodies they’ve created.. but for the increased emphasis on production! They definitely delved into some deeper waters and definitely grew from the last CD.. .. well check for yourselves! Here are 3 tracks from their upcoming August 2008 CD: Fast Times At Barrington High
